		The MZU Administration moved to its permanent campus at Tanhril on 11th April, 2005.
		The Deptt. of Geology organized a discussion meet on ‘Magnetostratigraphy and Palaeomagnetism’ during April, 12th-13th  2005.
		The Deptt. of Political Science organized a Public Lecture and workshop on ‘Universality of Human Rights’ on 14th –15th April, 2005.
		The Deptt. of Public Administration alongwith NEPASI and IIPA- Mizoram Regional Branch, organized a national seminar on ‘Public Administration in India: Perspective on New Public Management and Human Rights’ during 5th – 7th May, 2005.
		The Deptt. of Lib. & Inf. Sciences organized a three days seminar & training programme on ‘Bridging the Digital Divide, Public Library Services in N.Eastern Region: Opportunities & Challenges’ and training programme on ‘Application of IT in Public Libraries’ in collaboration with Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata from 19th – 21st May, 2005.
		The Hostel and Residential Complex was inaugurated by His excellency Shri. A.R. Kohli, Governor of Mizoram on 10th June, 2005.
		On 19th  July, 2005  Shri Zoramthanga, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram inaugurated the new Academic Complex at Tanhril.
		Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the President of India and Visitor to Mizoram University, visited the University on 24th September 2005.
		The first Vice-Chancellor of Mizoram University, Prof. A.K.Sharma retired on superannuation on 30.12.2005 and left for his home town in gurgaon, Hariyana on 04.01.2006. Prof. Tlanglawma, Pro Vice-Chancellor took over the charges of Vice-Chancellor since 30.12.2005 (afternoon)
		The 3rd General Body Meeting of Post Graduate Students Union was held on 17th   March, 2006. PGSU resolved to change its name to Mizoram University Students Union, abbreviated as ‘MZUSU’.
		For its forthcoming Magazine, PGSU, MZU 2005-06, invites articles, poems, plays, statements or any other creative writings from the students, faculty as well as the non-teaching staffs. It may be written in English or Mizo. A recent passport size photograph along with a brief personal profile may be attached and submit to the Editors lasted by 31st May, 2006.
		The Department of Political Science successfully organized Seminar on ‘Women and Politics’ at Lecture Hall on 14th March, 2006. Dr. L.N.Das, Reader in Economics, University of North Orissa, an expert on Women Studies, was the resource person.
		The Students of Mizoram University successfully conduct “Varsity Week” from 3rd to 8th April, 2006.
		Prof. A.N.Rai has joined Mizoram University as Vice-Chancellor. The University fraternity is pleased to have such eminent scholar as Vice-Chancellor and expect to achieve milestones under his leadership.
		The Department of History & Ethnography is organizing an ICHR- Sponsored Seminar on “From orality to writing: Understanding a hundred years of change in Mizoram” at Mizoram University, Aizawl from the 2nd to 4th May, 2006.
		The Dept. of Lib. & Inf. Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl conducted another seminar in collaboration with Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundtion (RRRLF), on 'Bridging the Digital Divide, Public Library Services in North-Eastern Region Opportunities and Challanges' on 19th May 2005.
		Two days Training Programme on 'Application of IT in Public Libraries' was conducted in the Dept. of Lib. and Inf. Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl from 20-21 May 2005.
		The Dept. of Lib. & Inf. Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl organized three days workshop in collaboration with National Library, Kolkata with on 'Conservation of Library Materials' from 26-28th September 2005.
		Two days programme on 'Fulbright Mentoring and Educational Opportunities in USA' was jointly organized by the Dept. of Lib. & Inf. Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl and United States Educational foundation in India, New Delhi from 7-8th November 2005.
		Five days Orientation programme (UGC-NET-Research) was organized in the the Dept. of Lib. & Inf. Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl from 13-17th December 2005 for pass out MLIS students of the Dept.
		The Dept. of Lib. & Inf. Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl and NASSCOC (ICSSR), New Delhi jointly organized workshop-cum-training-programme on 'Library Automation, Networking and Digitization' from 27th February - 3rd March 2006.
		Five days Workshop-cum-Trainng Programme on 'Compilation of Bibliographies in North-East Indian Languages with Special Reference to Mizo Language' was organized jointly by the Central Reference Library (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) and Dept. of Lib. & Inf. Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl from 20-24th March 2006.
