The
School of Economics, Management & Information Sciences
(SEMIS), Mizoram University, Aizawl, started functioning
from the year 2001 with just one department, namely the
department of Economics. In addition to this department, the
School now includes the department of Commerce and Library &
Information Sciences which were added in 2002. The
department of Management has been introduced in 2007.
Courses in the department of Management are likely to begin
very soon. The first Dean of the School is Prof. Tlanglawma
of the Department of Economics.
The members of
the Board of School of Economics, Management & Information
Sciences comprises of experts with different academic
backgrounds including professional subjects like Information
Technology, Electronics, Communication, etc.
