Brief Introduction:

The Department of Education was started in 1980 under the erstwhile Mizoram Campus of the North Eastern Hill University established at Aizawl in 1979 with a one-year M.Ed programme. In 1985 the department switched over to a two year M.Ed programme for just one batch of students and it was replaced by a two year M.A. programme in Education since the 1986 academic session. Till 1987, a total of 76 students and since then up till now, a total of 207 students have passed out of this department with M.Ed and M.A Education respectively.
