Applications on plain paper along with complete bio-data and attested copies of supporting documents are invited for the post of: 1. Junior Research Fellow – 1 (One) and 2. Field Assistant – 1 (One), in the Department of Physics, Mizoram University, Aizawl under the project  ‘Study of Radon Anomalies as a Precursor to Earthquakes Along Mat Fault in Mizoram’ funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India. Duration: 3 (Three) years; Emoluments: For JRF (Rs.12,000 pm + HRA for the first 2 years and Rs.14,000pm+HRA for the 3rd  year) and for F.A. (Rs.5,000 pm + HRA ). Both the positions are purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project.


Eligibility: For JRF-(M.Sc. Physics/Geophysics with 55% marks, NET/GATE will be preferred) and for F. A.-(HSSLC with Physics Chemistry and Maths).

 

Age limit: 28 years

Applications are invited for filling up of vacant non-teaching posts under Mizoram University.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

 

i)          Complete application in prescribed form with application fee of Rs. 200.00 (for Group ‘C’ posts – recruitment on local/regional basis) / Rs. 500.00 (for Group 'A' and Group 'B' post - recruitment on all India basis), in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of  Registrar, Mizoram University on State Bank of  India, Aizawl Main Branch may be submitted to the Registrar, Mizoram University, Post Box No.190, Aizawl, Mizoram - 796 009.

 

ii)         Applications should be supported by relevant documents (attested) in all respects. Applications not supported by documents will be summarily rejected.

 

iii)        Applications for the posts reserved for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes should be supported by the Caste/Tribe Certificate in a Govt. of India prescribed format duly issued by concerned authority. Applications for posts reserved for Persons with Disabilities should be supported by appropriate Medical Certificate duly issued by the authorized Medical Board.

Applicants for the reserved post of OBC are required to submit an updated certificate regarding his/her ‘OBC status and non-creamy layer status’ in the prescribed format duly issued by the concerned authority.

 

iv)        Candidates already in service should submit their applications through proper channel. While an advance copy may be sent directly, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or duly forwarded application should be produced at the time of interview.

 

v)         Last date of receipt of complete application is 02-06-2010. For candidates outside North-Eastern States, the last date for submission of complete application is 08-06-2010.

 

vi)        The crucial date for reckoning upper age-limit is 08-06-2010.

 

vii)       The University reserves the right not to fill any of the post(s). There may be an increase or decrease in the number of posts. Written test may be conducted for some posts which shall be notified separately by the University.

 

viii)      Separate application is required for candidates applying for different posts.

 

ix)        In posts where reservation of ‘UR’ and any other category of reservation co-exist, separate application is not required for reserved category candidates for consideration against such ‘UR’ posts.

 

x)         Candidate should submit one application only in one envelope in A-4 size paper in the prescribed format. The envelope containing the application should be super scribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF_______________________________”

 

RELAXATIONS & OTHER CONCESSIONS:

 

Fee Concession:         SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities are fully exempted from payment of the prescribed fees upon submission of relevant Caste/Tribe/Disability Certificate issued by the concerned authority.

 

Age relaxation:          Age relaxation as per Govt. of India norms is applicable as follows – SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, Persons with Disabilities – 10 years. Persons with Disabilities belonging to SC/ST/OBC will be eligible for age relaxation of 10 years over and above the age relaxation admissible to them as SC/ST/OBC.

                                    Upper age limit prescribed for various Group ‘C’ posts of Mizoram University shall be relaxed in respect of the existing contract employees as a one-time measure; provided they fulfill the prescribed age limit at the time of entry.
