The
School was initially
begun as the School of Forestry and Earth Sciences in
October 2001. Now Known as the School of Earth Sciences
and Natural Resources Management (SES&NRM), the main
objective of the School is to impart training to
students and research scholars in various aspects of
Earth Sciences and Natural Resource Management. The
School Comprises of six departments, namely the
departments of Forestry; Forest Ecology, Biodiversity &
Environmental Sciences; Geography, Tribal Culture and
Resource Management; Extension Education and Rural
Development; Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants
as well as the Department of Geology.
The First School Board
meeting of the school was held on 21st May 2002 and it
approved the M.Sc. curriculum of the Department of
Forest Ecology, Biodiversity & Environmental Sciences
and the Department of Geology. The second meeting of the
local school board was held on 7th December 2002 and it
approved the revised syllabus of M. Sc. curriculum of
the Department of Forest Ecology, Biodiversity &
Environmental Sciences.
The School consists of a State –of- the-art GIS and
Remote Sensing facility.
