The school of Humanities
and Education(SH&E) was established vide notification
No. 2/5/01-Acad/3496-502, dated 12th October, 2001.
There are three departments namely Department of
Education, Department of English and Department of Mizo
under this school. The notification about the members
constituting this school was issued vide
EX-PG/2-3/01/9546-66, dated 18th March, 2002 and the
first meeting of the School Board was held on 1st
August, 2002. Besides approving the Ph.D research
proposals received from the three departments, the
modified curriculum for the first semester at the post
graduate levels in Education/English/Mizo prepared on
the basis of recommendations of Humanities and Education
was held on 28th November,2002 and the modified
curriculum for the remaining three semesters of post
graduate level was approved for the disciplines of
Education/English/Mizo. Some modifications were made in
the first semester syllabi of three disciplines approved
in the first meeting of the School Board held earlier.
These syllabi for the three departments under the school
have been approved by the Academic Council in its
meeting held on 12th December, 2002.
