Brief Introduction:

The Department of Library & Information Science was established during the academic session 2002-03 and it was formally inaugurated by Prof. A.K.Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Mizoram University on 20.8.2002 at the Central Library of the University. The first intake of the students were for the B.L.I.Sc. Course and which was later changed over to the Two Years Integrated M.L.I.Sc Course.

The Department is also offering M.Phil course with an intake capacity of 05 and Ph.D program.
